Microsoft’s role in the field of Artificial Intelligence

 

Artificial Intelligence is the most common tech-buzz word today. In the field of technology and innovation high expectations are in association with it. So, what exactly is artificial intelligence? It is a nonprofit AI research organization co-founded by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and Ilya Sutskever with the goal to achieve progress in field of Artificial Intelligence, push forward an open technology by empowering people.

Microsoft believes that AI must be designed to assist humanity; it should be transparent, help enterprises maximize their efficiency without destroying human dignity and foster the digital transformation for companies.

OpenAI has chosen to partner with Microsoft due to its deep learning research and ongoing commitment to AI, along with Azure’s support for open source technologies and its unique combination of high performance computing, big data and intelligence capabilities such as Azure Batch, Azure Machine Learning and the Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit (formerly CNTK). OpenAI chose Microsoft Azure as their primary cloud platform, to help advance their research and create new tools and technologies that are only possible with cloud.

Azure Bot Service

Microsoft has also introduced Azure Bot Service, a first of its kind in the industry. So with this new service, developers can accelerate the development of bots with the Microsoft Bot Framework and easily deploy and manage them in a serverless environment on Azure. This can be of usage to maximize development agility and operational efficiency of service at lower cost.
