Business Intelligence is key to making businesses more agile, productive and effective. As businesses grow it becomes more difficult to manage data more effectively thereby unable to harness the true potential of data and make effective decision making. This being the leading reason why organizations are adopting Business Intelligent systems.

Microsoft has history of technological advancements in the field of IT. Keeping up with the tradition it has pioneered with the introduction of compelling analytics tool, Power BI.

With just few clicks transform your data into a visual dashboard that will transform big data into insightful visualizations that can be absorbed in a glance.

Get Data

The first thing to do when creating a dashboard with Power BI is to access the data. For example, get data from an Excel workbook that is prepared for use with Power BI.

Load up Power BI inside Office 365 and then click the Get Data button located at the bottom of the left navigation pane.

One of the choices will be Files. Click that button and proceed to the location where your Excel file is stored. Find your file, point to it, and click the Connect button. For this example, we will import the Excel workbook.

Once the workbook has been uploaded then a blank Power BI workspace will appear. On the left navigation pane, click the name of the dataset you just imported. The blank work-space will then change into an active dashboard creation tool.

Create Your Dashboard

Like paint program, Power BI has icons that showcase multiple data visualization tools you can use for your dashboard. It also displays a Fields section, where you can choose what data you want to work with at any given point. Get Power BI today to boost your business analytics.
